After nearly a two month absence a spot has finally returned to the Sun’s face. The blemish is large, since I can see it in my small binocular, and has just rotated onto the face as Space Weather predicted yesterday.

At this level of magnification and without any kind of stabilization all I can tell is that there is a large spot there. It has been so long since I have seen a spot that I had trouble determining which hemisphere it was in but I guessed south near the equator and Active Region Explorer said I was a little high in my estimate.
We should have something to observe this weekend if we go to NEAF.
