One of the greatest obstacles to progress is not ignorance, but the illusion of knowledge.

they were calling for it to cloud up and possibly snow this afternoon but that didn't happen up here. There were times when the Sun was covered by clouds but they were short lived and during the time I was observing I was never troubled my clouds.

The wind was out of the N so at my back while standing at the scope on my preferred side so not as bad as the head wind I had the other night in Times Square. There were a couple of times when gusts pushed me into the scope and it was frequently buffeted.

There was boiling all around the limb of the sub. It had the impression of an unending progression of waves circling the body in a counterclockwise direction.

With a diameter of 16.8" the ISS should be within the reach of my scope which has a theoretical resolution of 1.2". But a mosquito when is measured at its greatest extremes is larger than a fly but while flying, even when it is resting on the wall, is much harder to see than the fly due to the delicacy of its body.

Disclaimer
This is my personal record of my astronomical observations. It was written for my personal reference. The only reason it is in a blog is that a blog is a very convenient way to get the records formatted more or less uniformly and they will, hopefully, have greater longevity at Google where the servers are backed up than on my hard drive which never gets backed up. I occasionally include copyrighted material in my posts. I do this to make it convenient for me to access things I think I might want to refer to again. I think of this like making a photocopy of something I read that I put in a file where I can find it when I want it. As I understand copyright law, as explained in the DVD series Copyright Compliance by Chip Taylor Communications, this use is allowed under the Fair Use doctrine since I am not making any money on this blog, I don’t publicize the blog, and only occasionally post small excerpts of copyrighted works.
