| Comments | First seen through the windows of a Manhattan-bound #6 Train in The Bronx at the Whitlock Avenue Station. At 12d13h at was mostly round but with a very diffuse illumination at the terminator. The bright portions of its surface had a yellow to gold tinge. I was seeing the moon through two layers of plastic window that has some tint in it and I don't know if it is adding color or just acting as a neutral density filter. The moon was still low in the sky and there was a salmon glow in the clouds to the west so Earth's atmosphere was almost certainly a contributing factor in the appearance. |
