I had planned to observe this morning but by the time I got outside the sun was obscured by clouds and haze. The weather was supposed to have gotten worse during the day but I found when I left the museum that I could see the Sun through the haze. It looked kind of like Jupiter with stripes across it where there were bands of thicker cloud.

Space Weather and Active Region Explorer say there are still two spots visible but I can only see one. The atmosphere isn’t helping me and neither is my small, light. Hand-held binocular.

All I can see is a single spot. It still appears large and elongated, but I can’t detect any penumbra.
