The sky looked very white out to the west again tonight, but when the sun came down it was nice and crisp so it must have been clearer than either of the past two nights, and me without a camera.

CommentsI was downtown so I just stayed here to see what would happen tonight, which is the date that has been publicized for this event this year. A few people arrived about the same time I did and the crowd built steadily up to probably 50-100 people. I think the crowd was bigger last year, but this was definitely a bigger crowd than we had Monday night. The sun aligned with the street axis beginning right around 2010 EDT and had mostly set by 2012 EDT. I observed it through my welder’s glass and snuck a few quick looks naked-eye and as late as midnight I was seeing a faint green spot on the pages of the book I was reading. As I scanned the page the green spot scanned along.
