I was looking in Planetarium today to see if there was anything that had to be seen tonight after discovering that I missed an asteroidal occultation in Perseus last night that I should habe been able to have seen. The weather forecast was a little extrene. The coldest air mass of the season has gotten here again and the wind chill was supposed to be bad so I stayed in and read about commercial fishing on the North Atlantic in a January Force 12 storm (Trawler).

My calendar shows the α Centaurids and the Virginids meteors active right now, but Planetarium is showing a radiant active in Leo. It looks like the Virginids meteors must have been named before the constellation lines were formalized because their radiant is just SE of ι Leo, which is just on the Leo side of the Virgo-Leo bounfary line.

There does not appear to be anything urgent enough to get me out of my overheated apartment and into the arctic air with antarctic wind chill.
