| Comments | If this comet is there I can't prove it. It was supposed to be at its best 12-14May06 when it was making its closest approach to earth but our weather has been cloudy at its best since the beginning of the month. I did see the comet once in Peter's scope and again the following night in my scope but haven't seen it since then. The reports are that it continues to fragment and is becoming fainter. There is speculation that the C component which has been the most stable and brightest is in the process of fragmenting. I haven't heard anything about possibly viewing it again when it comes out from behind the sun, if there is anything left to view, but it looks like it will be a daytime object by then and probably too faint to be seen at night from here.
