It looks like we are in for some windy conditions tomorrow, not to mention rain. The synoptic chart shows a box smack dab in the center that says DVLPG STORM. It is right over Long Island. The winds will come from the fairly steep pressure gradient around the pair of lows that are moving into the Mississippi River valley and from there will move up over the Great Lakes. As it moves NE the pressure gradient will pass over us from the west and we should see winds pick up and shift from the NE to the SE as it passes.

I have already started a chart of the passage of this system and it looks like the barometric pressure is starting to drop, or at least waver where it is up around 30.2 inches of mercury.

I was perusing CSC. They aren't predicting conditions good enough that I am planning on going downtown (transparency and seeing worse than average) but under darkness they say it will be a Mag 6.2 night between 1900 EST and about 2130 EST.
