792
NE quadrant. This remains a large complex group that is more space between components than it is spots themselves. There is one dominant spot and a few smalelr ones around it. I am not seeing penumbra but lots of the faint discoloration that is often between the penumbra and the void area. No void area was detected today.
794
SE quadrant. I think this spot will rival 792. It is already large and has a solid umbra and I suspect a penumbra will soon be visible. The spot is surrounded by a void area.
795
NE quadrant. This is the smallest group visible. It is a single spot with neither penumbra nor void area.

Location

We are here tonight because Peter wants to use it as a place to observe the last waning crescent moon on Thursday morning and wanted to scout out an observing location.

CommentsThe Summer Triangle looks small tonight compared to what I am used to seeing from TotL. The whold sky looks much larger. It is because there are no trees blocking our horizon. But there is a lot of light pollution here.

&omega1 Sco and ω2Sco
This naked-eye double is so wide that it isn't all that obvious under magnification. It lies inside the line of the left claw. The two stars are fairly equal in magnitude and uniform and nondescript in color.
ν Sco
This is a close double that I have been seeing for some time but it is not marked as such in Planetarium. Peter confirmed it. I didn't make notes about PA, magnitude difference or color difference. I seem to remember the secondary being very orange.
Dschubba
A small secondary is at the 12:00 position. It is much dimmer ad looks a little orange in my binocular and didn't really split. The split was easy in Peter's 22x60s.

CommentsA very wide double. They are so far separated that it doesn't really look like a double in the binocular.

CommentsI was able to see a point of light there naked-eye but could not tell that it was a double and did not but the binocular on it.

CommentsFollowing on the theme I put the binocular on Alberio. It was too high to spend a lot of time observing in the binocular but it was an easily split double with nice color contrast.

Disclaimer
This is my personal record of my astronomical observations. It was written for my personal reference. The only reason it is in a blog is that a blog is a very convenient way to get the records formatted more or less uniformly and they will, hopefully, have greater longevity at Google where the servers are backed up than on my hard drive which never gets backed up. I occasionally include copyrighted material in my posts. I do this to make it convenient for me to access things I think I might want to refer to again. I think of this like making a photocopy of something I read that I put in a file where I can find it when I want it. As I understand copyright law, as explained in the DVD series Copyright Compliance by Chip Taylor Communications, this use is allowed under the Fair Use doctrine since I am not making any money on this blog, I don’t publicize the blog, and only occasionally post small excerpts of copyrighted works.
