CommentsOn the evening of 4Jul05 comet Temple 1 will be 0.9 AU from Earth and at mag. 9.7. The event will take place after the comet has set for people on the East Coast.

I had planned to watch the event in near real time on NASA TV but wasn't able to negotiate a connection when I got home. From the images I have seen after the fact it doesn't look like I missed anything spectacular anyway as apparently the only images that were seen were stills.
