| Comments | This sure does not look like an approaching solar minima. 758 - Approaching the leading limb of the sun. It looked like it was almost on the limb. I could see two voids in the rice grain structure above the sunspot. Only the upper one shows up well in my diagram. It was hard to stipple around the lower one which was smaller. 759 - The central spot of 759 might have shrunk a little but I think overall the spot is bigger. The detached spots trailing it are more numerous and more complex. There is a penumbra around the largest spot and the entire complex is within a clear area. This sunspot got drawn a little high when I finalized my field drawing. It should be more between 762 and 763. 762 - Looks like its leading spot is being stretched along the plane of rotation while the trailer appeared elongated across the axis. 763 - Appears bigger and more complex. The leading spot appeared to be two spots oriented across the plane of rotation while the trailing pair of spots appear to touch one another and are in line with the rotation. There is no penumbra visible around the small spots but a void is vaguely visible between them and the rice grain structure. |
