| Comments | It was clear when I was heading home from dinner so I decided to look for Mercury from here. Originally I was going to go over to the Cross Bronx Expressway but decided to try the subway platform instead to gain the advantage of the high ground. The sky was orange for a few degrees up from the skyline then transitioned through deeper shades of blue. Mercury appeared well up into the blue at 1835 EST and was in line with the line of the train station. From the station I moved to the street below and it was still visible above the buildings. Moving to the corner of Mcgraw and Virginia I could still see it and moving back to Metropolitan and Mcgraw it was still visible over the church. On the other side of McGraw I had to move part way down the block toward Metropolitan to see it next to one of the apartment buildings and over the steeple of the church. It looks much higher in the sky here tonight than it did last night at TotL. |
