They say the cost could go up when they get inside them if they find hidden damage from water, sand, or shock. Since the binoculars hit the ground with enough force to break off one of the eyepieces they have obviously suffered a shock so my costs could go even higher. For that money I could buy a couple of pairs of good conventional binoculars, but with my initial investment in the Canons I don't feel like I can walk away from them just yet.
