| Observing Location | Cape Breton, NS, Canada I don't remember exactly where I was when I made this observation but I was only on the Trans-Canada Highway, Highway 105 and Highway 125 between North Sydney and Sydney that night. |

| Comments | I picked up a planisphere today at the Cape Breton Highlands gift shop. It was made in Montreal and is in French so I can't read much of the writing on it. It says that CMa is called Le Grand Chien. As well as having the stick figures for the constellations the planisphere has modern renditions of the traditional pictures the constellations represent. There is so much contrast between the stars and the sky. Even close to Sydney and Glace Bay the light pollution is generally not that bad, but I couldn't see as many stars tonight as I did last Saturday and no Milky Way. |
