26 June 2004
| Observing Location | Brooklyn Bridge, New York, NY I started at the Manhattan pier of the bridge and continued observing as I walked down the bridge to City Hall. |

| Atmospheric Conditions | It had been solid overcast from Friday afternoon through at least 1500 Saturday. The monthly AAA stargazing and solar observing did not occur because it was so bad. But by 1700 when I arrived at the South Street Seaport there was a beautiful blue mostly clear sky with low relative humidity so I decided to give Mercury and Saturn a try. |
| Instruments | Brunton 8x21 compact binoculars |

| Comments | Mercury and Saturn are within 2.1 degrees of each other in Gemini. They are also within 10 degrees of the Sun. I scanned the sky to the south of the Sun but they were not bright enough for me to pick them out of the early evening sky. |
