| Observing Location | Turtle Pond, Central Park Rich had Alice set up in the bird blind where there are fewer lights while Peter set up on the walk in the usual place. The bird blind didn't transmit a lot of vibration to the scope but there were only three of us on it and we didn't move around a lot. |

| Atmospheric Conditions | The sky appeared to be clear but the seeing was very variable. It was cold and we were not dressed for the weather so observing was difficult. |

| Comments | Observing through Peter Tagatac's refractor and Alice Barner's NexStar 5 I saw Ganymede transit then leave the disk of Jupiter and Ganymede's shadow transit half of the disk. Europa was approaching the planet from the west and disappeared behind it. Io was approaching from the east but had not yet begin to transit when we left at 2200. The views in Peter's refractor were consistent. |
