CommentsOrion looked particularly clear tonight when I got home so I went back outside with the binoculars and observed over a parking lot in the middle of the block. I don't remember ever seeing as much nebulosity in the neighborhood of M42/43. It may be that the nebulosity was just more apparent because I was hand holding the binoculars.
